House of the Dragon: Rhaenys and Meleys, an Unbreakable Bond
A History of Partnership
Rhaenys Targaryen and her dragon, Meleys, share a bond that surpasses all others in the Dance of the Dragons. They have been together for decades, forging an unbreakable connection.
Rhaenys' Wedding Flight
When Rhaenys married Lord Corlys Velaryon in 90 AC, she made a grand entrance by arriving on Meleys. This daring display of power and unity symbolized the strength of their alliance.
Rhaenys' Pivotal Scene
In episode four of House of the Dragon, Rhaenys and Meleys played a pivotal role. They confronted Aegon and Aemond Targaryen, who had both commanded their dragons to attack. Rhaenys' quick thinking and Meleys' speed allowed them to escape.
A Formidable Foe
Rhaenys and Meleys are a formidable force on the battlefield. When an army led by Ser Criston Cole approached the gates of Dragonstone, Rhaenys offered to fly to their aid. Her intervention forced Cole's army to retreat.
Aemond's Attack
In a later confrontation, Aemond Targaryen attacked both Rhaenys and Aegon with dragonfire. While Rhaenys managed to maneuver Meleys away, Aegon and his dragon, Sunfyre, took the brunt of the attack.
