Falcons Injury Report: Updates on McGary and Landman
Atlanta Falcons Injury Report: Kaleb McGary and Nate Landman Updates
The Atlanta Falcons released their initial injury report for Week 2 on Wednesday, and two key starters remain questionable. Right tackle Kaleb McGary (knee) and linebacker Nate Landman (concussion) both missed practice on Wednesday. McGary suffered his injury in the first half of Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints, while Landman left the game in the second half. Both players are considered day-to-day, and their status for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams is uncertain.
Kaleb McGary Injury Update
McGary is a key part of the Falcons' offensive line, and his absence would be a significant blow. He has started all 16 games at right tackle for the Falcons over the past two seasons. If McGary is unable to play on Sunday, the Falcons could turn to either Germain Ifedi or Chuma Edoga to replace him. Ifedi started 13 games at right tackle for the Falcons last season, while Edoga has started 12 games at left tackle over the past two seasons.
Nate Landman Injury Update
Landman is the Falcons' starting middle linebacker, and he is coming off a breakout season in 2021. He led the team with 107 tackles last season, and he also had three interceptions and two forced fumbles. If Landman is unable to play on Sunday, the Falcons could turn to either Mykal Walker or Nick Kwiatkoski to replace him. Walker started 10 games at middle linebacker for the Falcons last season, while Kwiatkoski has started 43 games at middle linebacker over the past five seasons.
